ERASA MANDATORY REST PERIODS - always refer to Chapter 4 

Rest period commences at midnight on the day that the ride finishes as denoted by the maximum ride time allowed and finishes at midnight on the day before the published ride start time of the next ride

NOVICE HORSES  =  ERASA RULES

1st 41km No rest period

2nd 40km  and non completion of 40km

12 days
>41 - 80km  (includes the final 80km of the novice phase) 12 days

ENDURANCE HORSES  - ERASA RULES  - refer to Chapter 4 Article 4.3.5.2

100KM - 126KM 19 DAYS
126 KM PLUS 26 DAYS
BELOW for both novice and endurance horses  
Invasive Treatment 1st Incident 60 days in total
Invvasive Treatment 2nd Incident 90 days in total

 

Remember if you have ridden and FEI  event you need to respect the FEI rest periods as well, and cannot compete in ERASA event 

FEI REST PERIODS 

 

After competing in a FEI or National Event, a horse must be given a mandatory minimum rest perioid, as defined,  before it is eligible to participate in a National or FEI competition

0-54km - from crossing the start line up to 54km 5 days
Over 54 - 106 km 12 days
Over 106 - 126 km 19 days
Over 126 - 146km 26 days
Over 146km 33 days

Extended rest periods  - 

Article 815.3.3

Horses that exceed an average of 20kmph over completed loops of a course 7 days in addition
Irregular gait (third or subsequent) FTQ -GA in a rolling year  180 day Mandatory out of competition
Second FTQ - ME in a rolling year 14 days in addition
Third (or subsequent) FTQ-ME in a rolling year 60 days (subject to extension under Artilce 839.2.3)
Serioius Injury (musculoskeletal) 180 days (subject to extension under Article 839.2.3)
Serious injury (Metabolic) 60 days (subject to extension under Article 839.2.3)
