NOVICE PHASE - horses

All horse both ERASA and FEI are to follow the ERASA novice phase rule in Chapter 4

NOTE :  IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE RIDER AND THE OWNER OF THE HORSE TO ENSURE THEY HAVE FOLLOWED THE NOVICE PHASE RULE

FEI  DOES NOT GIVE REFUNDS

Any horses starting novice phase rides under  ERASA novice rules,  even if horse starts novice phase at 8 years or older.

2 x 40km (rule changed 21 March 2020)

AND THEN ONLY

2 x 80km 

ALL UNDER 16KM

NOT LONGER THAN 24 MONTHS

1st  CEI 1*  can be ridden 12 months after first  novice ride.

PLEASE REFER TO MANDATORY REST PERIODS FOR NOVICE PHASE HORSE 

NOVICE PHASE   -   FEI RIDER

FEI requires that  all new FEI Athletes follow novice phase as well

2 x 40km - 79km 

2 x 80km - 99KM

ALL UNDER 16KM

PERIOD  :  not shorter than 6 months and not longer than 24 months.
